SAB Preview: It’s sink or swim

SAB Preview: It’s sink or swim

As the league heads towards its home run, teams will look to give It their all, with some fighting for honors, while others seek to evade the relegation axe

The SAB League has 300 games been played thus far with a total of 1 014 goals being scored. Amazingly, there is a parity in the goals for and against, 507 each way, summing up a collective goal difference of zero.

This depicts a great run in as far as goal scoring is concerned, and a pretty pathetic defensive record at the same time. However, that is not travesty to the nature of the league which has been astoundingly unpredictable this term.

It seems only the teams in the top-six have a positive goal difference, Jomo Powers with the best difference of +26, while Heath have the worst of -16.

It has been an extraordinary season thus far, and goals have fallen like manna, with no team hitting any form of consistency in as far as results are concerned. Week-20 presents teams with a chance to either consolidate their stances towards winning the league, and chances to also run away from relegation.

It’s a tough week for Battswood who have a tough double header ahead of them. Although, most eyes will be on two matches that might change things at the top, Avendale Athletico vs Jomo Powers, and Shockwaves vs Riverside Rangers.

At the bottom, Santos will hope to get the scalp of Heath Athletic, in a bid to avert relegation. It is all to fight for, and with 10-games to the finishing line, fates might just be decided this weekend.
