Player of the Week: Houston Hills
Cape Town All Stars attacker Houston Hills proved to be the difference against his former team Milano United, when he netted the equalizer and winner in their 3-2 win on Sunday afternoon.
With both Cape outfits looking to secure a spot in the promotion/relegation play-offs – it was a must win match – which Igugu Lekapa claimed in spectacular style.
“I am happy about my performance against Milano, especially just coming back from an injury that kept me out for six weeks,” Hills told CapeTownFootball.
“I could have done more in running of defenders in the first half, but with more game time I’ll get back to my best again.
“It’s always special playing against your former team, but I just took it as one more game. I always want to give it my all, doesn’t matter who I play against, but it was wonderful scoring the winning goal against them,” he added.
The 27-year-old further stated that he had a positive mindset when he headed into the derby at the weekend, and told himself that he would score the goals his side needed.
Also, he’s optimistic that the Gugulethu-based outfit could get promoted to the PSL at the end of this season.
It was about the attitude to score, I believed I would score against Milano,” Hills told CapeTownFootball.
“I think we can reach the play-offs, we might just get the number-one spot. This is football and anything can happen.
“Coach (Boebie Solomons) made us believe that we can win the game, he together with coach Dylan (Deane), they doing a wonderful job. When coaches believe in their players, then as a coach you will always achieve.
“I want to thank God, because without him I would not have been able to score and played the way I did,” he concluded.
