Top four teams drop points, whilst bottom of the table Moonlight FC got hammered at this weekend’s ABC Motsepe League encounters
Third and fourth placed Hellenic and Ajax Cape Town got the weekend’s fixtures underway on Friday evening at Ikamva, where they played to a disappointing goalless draw. Both sides went into the match filled with confidence following their impressive wins in their previous encounters.
Despite both sides creating goal-scoring opportunities, neither were able to put the ball into the back of the net.
Meanwhile, at the Nyanga Stadium, second placed Zizwe United only managed a single point when they drew 1-1 with Milano United.
At the Manenburg Stadium, former Milano player Danian Wareley secured maximum points for ASD Cape Town, after he netted a brace in their 2-0 win over Crystal Palace. RC Athletico got back to winning ways following a four-match winless run, when they defeated Mitchells Plain United 2-0 at the Santos Academy grounds.
Steenberg United annihilated bottom of the table Moonlight FC with a 6-0 victory at Rooikraans, whilst Knysna Bafana (Ikapa) edged Grassy Park United 1-0 courtesy to Ashwin Louter.
Barcelona FC impressively held log leaders Glendene United to a goalless draw at the Rustdene Stadium, and The Magic FC go five matches unbeaten when they drew 1-1 with FC Tygerberg.
